If there wasn't much interest in the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this year, that's clearly not the case anymore. Though Cincinnati's first home sellout this weekend is against an opponent that typically has a strong traveling fanbase, the television ratings are impressive. According to Jim Kiesewetter of the Cincinnati Enquirer, WKRC-TV (Local 12) reached a rating of 36.4 during the Bengals 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans, nearly doubling the ratings for NBC's Sunday Night Football game featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.
Sunday’s game averaged a 36.4 rating/56% audience share for WKRC-TV, down slightly from the Seattle game (38.5/56%). Sunday’s rating was #2 for this season. The Bengals (36.4) nearly doubled the ratings here for NBC’s Sunday night Steelers-Ravens game on WLWT-TV (19.2/29%), which was the #1 show in prime-time here. Channel 12?s CBS lineup was #2.
Paul Brown Stadium is soldout this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers before heading back out on the road to Baltimore in a critical AFC North showdown against the Ravens. The Bengals then return to Cincinnati to host the Browns on November 27.
